These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of WordSensei ("the Service"), operated by the WordSensei team ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using any part of WordSensei, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who accesses or uses the Service, whether or not they have created an account.

WordSensei is a free, online vocabulary learning platform offering word games, educational resources, and a points-based reward system. Our goal is to help non-native English speakers improve their vocabulary through interactive, game-based learning.

The core platform (including all vocabulary games) is free to use and supported by advertising. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscriptions, or premium options in the future. If and when we do, we will clearly label them and give you the choice to opt in.

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We won't be liable to you or any third party for any such modification or interruption.

You may use WordSensei as a guest (without an account) regardless of age. However, to create an account, you must be at least 13 years old or have verifiable parental or guardian consent.

By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old, or that a parent or guardian has consented on your behalf. You also agree that all registration information you submit is truthful and accurate.

WordSensei accounts are created via third-party OAuth providers (currently Google and X/Twitter). We do not store passwords. By connecting a third-party account, you authorise us to access the basic profile information that provider shares with us.

• You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Do not share your login credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may not create more than one account per person. Duplicate accounts may be removed.
• You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at contact.wordsensei@gmail.com.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at contact.wordsensei@gmail.com.

WordSensei is a learning platform. We want it to be a safe and fair environment for everyone. You agree not to:

• Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or any other means to artificially inflate your scores, points, or game results
• Attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt our servers, databases, or other infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service
• Use the Service to transmit spam, malware, or other harmful content
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Engage in any conduct that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, or harmful to others
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any technical restrictions or security measures
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service without express written permission

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including removing content, suspending access, or reporting to law enforcement where appropriate.

Signed-in players accumulate points by answering correctly in the games. Points can be redeemed for a reward sent to a mobile wallet account you provide. This section sets out the rules that apply.

Points are awarded for correct answers and for completing daily play goals. They are never awarded for viewing, clicking, or dismissing an advertisement, and no reward is placed behind an advertisement. Advertising funds the site and plays no part in what you accumulate.

How points are earned

• Each correct answer awards points, with a small bonus while you are on an answer streak. A word you reveal rather than solve awards fewer points, or none
• Play is limited to a fixed number of rounds per day, which resets daily
• Completing the daily play goal awards a one-off daily bonus
• Points are earned through ordinary play only. Scores produced by bots, scripts, exploits, or multiple accounts held by one person are void

Redeeming points

• The minimum redemption is 30 points. Each request redeems exactly that amount, whatever your balance
• The amount paid per redemption is set by us and may change. The current amount is shown on your dashboard before you confirm a request
• Rewards are paid to the GCash account number saved on your dashboard. It is your responsibility to keep that number correct; we cannot recover a reward sent to a number you entered incorrectly
• The payout channel is available in the Philippines. If you are outside that area you can still play and collect points, but we may not be able to pay a reward
• You may hold one open request at a time. The next request can be made once the previous one is settled
• We review each request by hand and aim to settle it within 7 working days. Requests made on weekends and Philippine public holidays are reviewed on the next working day

Eligibility

• You must have an account and be at least 13 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian as set out in section 03
• One person, one account. Rewards are paid to the account holder only and are not transferable to anyone else
• The wallet account you give must belong to you or to your parent or guardian

WordSensei is a game of skill. There is no purchase, entry fee, wager, or stake of any kind, and no element of chance determines what you earn. Nothing on this site is gambling.

All content on WordSensei, including but not limited to game mechanics, vocabulary content, blog posts, educational resources, graphics, and branding, is owned by or licensed to WordSensei and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or exploit any part of the Service without our express written consent, except as permitted under applicable law (e.g. fair use).

If you believe that content on WordSensei infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us at contact.wordsensei@gmail.com with a description of the alleged infringement.

WordSensei is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components
• That the vocabulary content or educational resources are accurate, complete, or current
• That any errors or defects will be corrected

We make no warranty that the Service will meet your requirements or that results obtained through the Service will be accurate or reliable. Your use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WordSensei and its team members shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

This includes, without limitation, loss of data, loss of points or rewards, loss of profits, or any other loss or damage, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for most users, will be zero, since WordSensei is free).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. If these laws apply to you, some or all of the above limitations may not apply.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or via an in-app notice when you next log in.

Continuing to use WordSensei after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you don't agree with the updated Terms, please stop using the Service and, if applicable, delete your account.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
